Peace Corps Worldwide Talent Bank

Hi, I'm David Sears. I was a PCV in Morocco from 1979 to 1982, teaching English first in a high school in Khenifra in the Middle Atlas Mountains, and then for a year in the capital, Rabat. I've been active in the Boston Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers for several years, and when I heard about Peace Corps Worldwide I got in touch with the founders about having my company, Cambridge Data Systems, provide on-line job tools, including a 'talent bank' available to organizations interested in hiring RPCVs, job postings from organizations, and organizational profiles available to RPCV registrants. Anyone can search the job postings, but only registered RPCVs or Staff have access to search organizational profiles.

We are promoting these tools to organizations working internationally, as well as organizations working in the US which serve immigrant communities or otherwise might need some of the particular linguistic, cultural, and technical skills RPCVs possess, both for full-time employment and for ad hoc consultancies or relief efforts.

Eventually we hope to charge organizations a small annual fee to access the Talent Bank and post jobs, helping to cover the costs of the site and, we also hope, provide some surplus for the Peace Corps Fund. There will never be any charge to register in the Talent Bank. Registration is restricted to current or returned Peace Corps Volunteers or Staff and we will review your resume for evidence of this before approving your registration. To register, you will need: a resume to upload, a short description of yourself for the summary section, and a longer description of your skills & goals (or whatever you want!) for your profile. You will also be able to easily code your skills & interests, note where you have worked, and so forth. If you have a picture, you will be able to upload that as well.

PCVs and RPCVs are some of the most talented people in the world, with significant overseas experience, knowledge of a special language and culture, and a proven history that they can work in difficult situations and surroundings. I know that international companies and non-profits - and organizations working domestically - are seeking people with your skills and knowledge.

Talent Bank Registration

Please take the time to fill out the following form as completely as possible. This information will become the basis for your online profile, available to employers looking for RPCVs with extensive international experience. You do not need to register to search for jobs on our site, but only registered individuals are able to search our employer profiles - allowing you to contact employers who match your criteria before they post jobs.

Privacy Notes: We restrict access to your full profile to organizations that we consider to be legitimate employers. If you are ever contacted by an organization using this Talent Bank that you do not consider legitimate (e.g., one that's trying to sell you something), please let us know. We will, however, allow public access to a trial search of our Talent Bank which will include the data you enter below in the "Short Professional Summary" block. To ensure your privacy, please do not include identifying information in that area.

If you are already in the Talent Bank and want to edit your profile, click here.
